Programs in GWRSD

Preschool children who require special education receive services with non-disabled peers in public or local private preschools, or day care centers. Related services may be provided as specified in the child's IEP.

A student with an educational disability attends a regular class with supports and services required in the IEP.

A student with an educational disability attends a regular class and receives assistance at or through the special education resource room for no more than 60% of their school day.

A student with an educational disability attends a self-contained special class for more than 60% of their school day.

Related services are services that may be required to assist a child with a disability to benefit from special education. Examples of related services are: transportation, speech-language services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, counseling services, psychological services, school health services, or other corrective services which may be needed to assist a child with a disability to benefit from special education. Medical services are for diagnostic or evaluation purposes only.
